History

We were friends for years before we started dating.

Proposal

Gavin surprised me with a candlelit proposal on the deck of our newly purchased home.  I knew something was up when I saw the rose petals scattered everywhere!  He chose the ring himself, and it was perfect!

Wedding theme

Traditional.

Preparation

About 15 month’s preparation from engagement to wedding.  No major hiccups.

Special Memory

“All my friends and family together, dancing and celebrating!”

Advice/Comments

If you are going to spend money on anything, make sure its on the photographer!  After the day that’s what you have to remember it by, I have so many friends who have skimped on this and ended up very unhappy with the result”

Funniest Moment

“Some of the guests got carried away and decided to steal the microphone to sing karaoke”

Text Box: Ceremony
Deacon Joe did a great job, as the parish priest was on Holidays. St Gregory’s provided a lovely venue as it is a beautiful bluestone chapel.

Reception venue
The Brassey is a lovely venue and they make it such a carefree day by providing all the decorations, dancefloor etc.

Flowers
I was really happy with my flowers, they added great colour to the day. Botanics on Jardine made the process of selecting my flowers so smooth and easy. The flowers were delivered to us, which was one less thing to worry about on the day.

Hair
Maddie from Q-Hair is very talented and did a brilliant job with my hair. It was exactly how I'd envisaged it!

Make-up
A number of my friends recommend Linda from the perfume bar, so I booked her to do the makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. From the trial to the wedding day, she was fantastic! And the make-up lasted all day!

Menswear
Black Tie By Xavier were very helpful. They offered advice on what suits/tie combination would best compliment the bridesmaids. They were a pleasure to deal with and Gavin recommends Black Tie By Xavier to all his mates who are getting married, or need to hire a suit.

Cake
All our guests commented on how beautiful our cake looked, and more importantly how yummy it was! The Cake of Your Dreams showroom is amazing! They can literally do anything!

Photography
Steven from Creative Image Photography did an amazing job! He made us feel so relaxed and comfortable, we barely noticed he was taking photographs! Steven managed to capture ourselves and our guests in a candid, yet artistic manner. His laid-back personality contributed to a relaxing atmosphere (on what could very easily have been a hectic day!) that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Music and entertainment
The feedback from our guests on our selection of music and entertainment was great! The string quartet provided a lovely atmosphere for the pre dinner drinks, and the DJ (Stan from 3D Entertainment) had all our guests up and dancing all night, which was exactly what we wanted!

Transport
The Jags we hired from Prestige Jags added a touch of classic elegance, and they looked fabulous in our photographs.
