History: We met walking our dogs around Lake Burley Griffin
Proposal: Christmas Day 2006
Wedding theme: Native Australian Bush but Classic

Everything went smoothly on the day, and in the week leading up to the wedding. We had over thirty guests from interstate and overseas so it was a week of dinners, BBQs and celebrations. A couple of stand out suppliers:
Wendy at Hudson’s in the Garden. Nothing was too difficult and Wendy was a real pleasure to deal with. The food and service were excellent, with guests still commenting months later how good the food was. It was very reasonably priced, too.
Andy at Red Photography. Andy got HEAPS of photographs and it was great to get them all on DVD at the end, as well as very good sized proofs in lovely folders. He made everyone feel comfortable.

Cakes of Your Dreams. We had the coolest cake which again, reflected the mood and personality we wanted for the wedding, right down to the quirky statuettes of our dogs walking around the corner about to meet each other.
The Big Yellow Bus. Our guests were picked up by the double decker yellow bus from various hotels in Canberra to go to the wedding, then both Canberra based and out of town guests went on a champagne tour of the capital whilst the bridal party went for photos. The bus also took everyone home at night. It was a real talking point.
A1 Classic Car Rentals. We had beautiful Austin Princess Limos in silver for the girls and black for the boys. The husband and wife team that drove us around were so friendly and full of good marriage advice. We then slipped away in the evening in a stretch limo, as husband and wife.

Louise at A Bloom A Day Florist in Dickson. Lou put up with my last minute change of colour scheme and created a sensational bouquet of black/green kangaroo paws, succulents, protea, wattle, gum nuts, gum leaves, and pretty blooms. It was so different but really suited the mood we wanted for the wedding.
Elizabeth Isla Hair and Makeup. Liz did a great job doing our hair and makeup, even with my tears walking down the ‘aisle’, the makeup all stayed on with no watering! She also did my mother’s makeup, and hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, with an assistant. Highly recommended.
